Jason Yates Misc.shtml

My Error: Each season starts at either an equinox or solstice. An Equinox is when day and night are of equal length. A Solstice is when the Earth is closest to or at its greatest distance from the Sun.

The Correction: The solstice depends on the tilting of the earths axis, not the distance of the earth from the sun. When the north pole has tilted towards the sun, the northern hemisphere experiences summer and the southern hemisphere experiences winter. When the south pole has tilted toward the sun, the northern hemisphere has its winter and the souther hemisphere has its summer. Although this climate change is caused by a change in distance, saying it depends on the distance of the earth from the sun is incorrect, because the equator doesn't experience a drastic change in climate during their summer and winter months.

My Error: "Roman Army: The Legion had 4,800 men composed of 10 cohorts of 480 further divided into 6 centuries of 80 men. Each Century had 10 Tents of 10 men each."

The Correction: Starting at the point "480, further divided into 6 centuries of 80 men." This implies that a Century has 80 men. The next sentence "Each Century had 10 Tents of 10 men each" implies that a Century has 100 men, which makes more sense to me. Although I don't know what the true structure of the Roman Army was, the way you have it stated on your website does not logically follow.
