ALBANY - Dorothy "Dot" Sievers, 82, owner and operator of the Hereford Motel for more than 30 years, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Albany Cemetery with the Revs. Jeffrey "Beau" Pruitt and Doug Stenberg officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sievers was born in Niles, Ill., and worked as a riveter on C-54 cargo planes during World War II. She moved to Albany more than 50 years ago.
Survivors include one son, Herbert P. "Bud dy" Sie vers of Arlington; one sister, Ruth Pruitt of Glen Rose; three brothers, Herbert Kane of Sunrise Beach, Mo., George Kane of Mundelein, Ill., and Ken Kane of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
